Monument MicroCap Partners LLC, the Midwest-based private equity firm (“Monument”), has announced that Tim Hildebrand, the President of Monument, has been promoted to Co-CEO, and that Greg Schorr has joined Monument effective March 1, 2024, to be Co-CEO alongside Tim and become the firm’s full time Operating Partner. Tim has been with Monument since 2019. Greg has been assisting Monument since April 2022 as the Chairman of Kelly Roofing in Naples, Florida, a Monument portfolio company acquired in 2021.
Glenn Scolnik, the Chairman of Monument, emphasized: “This is a perfect match of skills. Tim will concentrate on the deal side—finding, financing, and closing platform acquisitions, and Greg will focus on the operations side–helping the companies acquired by Monument achieve their growth strategies. Together, Tim and Greg will essentially manage the business of Monument with the assistance from the board of Monument as needed”. Tim has closed over 19 transactions since joining Monument (5 platforms and 14 add-ons) and Greg has closed over 80 change of control transactions in his career. (Monument currently has one platform and one add-on under letter of intent.)
Greg Schorr is well known in the Indianapolis business community. From January 2019 until March 2022, Greg was the CEO of Protect Plus Air LLC, a portfolio company of HKW, the Indianapolis-based private equity firm where Tim Hildbrand and Glenn Scolnik and most of the partners of Monument worked for many years. Greg’s work resulted in dramatic improvement in Protect Plus and Greg’s work at Kelly Roofing has likewise significantly improved Kelly’s financial performance. Greg has also served as CEO of IFS, a PE backed company (manufacturer of retail display fixtures) and Custom Window Systems, another PE backed company (fabricator of windows and doors). Prior to Custom Windows, Greg was CEO of Simonton Windows, one of the largest vinyl window fabricators in the U.S. with over 4,600 employees. He has also assisted several PE firms in their investment strategies and operations. Greg will continue as Chairman of Kelly Roofing and assume the role of Chairman on several other Monument owned companies.
Greg is a graduate of Duquesne University (BSBA Accounting and MBA), worked at Deloitte & Touche in Pittsburgh, and was Vice President of PNC Bank in Pittsburgh from 1989 to 1997. Greg and his family live in Fishers IN and also Bradenton FL. Tim is a graduate of Marquette University (BS, Finance) and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (MBA).
